Hally Jo`s Corner Restaurant in Deep River

Very Hearty Breakfast.The corned beef hash was chock full of quality meat. The OE eggs were cooked perfectly. The home fries were very good as was the rye toast. The waitress was slammed but managed to stay out in front of it. Very friendly staff and to watch the kitchen bang out meal after meal was fascinating. The ambiance is a perfect fit for Deep River feel. Plenty of street parking.

Great home town restaurant!

Outstanding. Possibly the best breakfast I've had anywhere in the USA. Friendly atmosphere.

Decent breakfast spot in town. The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is the waitresses are more attentive to the regulars and as it was my husband and I's first time here, after our food was dropped off I was not able to get coffee refilled or any follow up from the waitress. Too bad because we would become regulars if we were more attended to. Will probably stick to the Whistle Stop as our regular breakfast place.

Great breakfast, good portions, quick service

Traveling thru Deep River I discovered this gems of a small town diner. Have returned several times over the past 6 or7 years and food is remarkable. Service is good.

Hally Jo's is one of the best breakfast places in the area. The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly! My family eats here once a week.

Riding motorcycle in the rain and needed a bite to eat to heat up and recharge. Got there a little bit before they closed. They cordially welcomed us in with no problem. Very polite. Charles and Jess are the best. The food was delicious and so was the coffee. I had the Rueban sandwich and wife had the 222. Others had the hamburger, hotdog, omelet, and clam chowder. No complaints, just smiles and full bellies. If you have the time it's really worth the stop. Our crew took a pic withe they're crew. Really great people.

Perfect spot for a simple, inexpensive, delicious, and quick traditional breakfast or lunch in a small diner setting. Folks that work here are always friendly and more than happy to make a recommendation. Coffee is always hot and the muffins are always fresh out of the oven. Give it a try if you happen to find yourself in Deep River.

Hally Jo's Corner is not only good food and plenty of it, there is a comradery an exchange of ideas and the easy flow of conversations that only small towns' create. There is a selection of soups that are luscious and a half cold sandwich combo I found to be hearty at a reasonable price, as everything on the menu is. I highly recommend Hally Jo's Corner!!

Good place for breakfast Pleasant staff

The diner was quaint and comfy, located on the corner of a small town business district. It was busy given it was a Sunday morning, but after a small wait we were sat for two at a booth by the window. My girlfriend had the eggs benedict special and me the ham and cheese omelette. The muffin used for the eggs benny was rubbery, so much that we swapped it out for the rye toast that came with my meal. A larger issue was the eggs being undercooked, never good for a breakfast place. The white parts of the egg were still runny. We ate most of it while leaving the extra soggy portions behind - although this may not have been enough as my girlfriend came down with a stomach ache later that afternoon. All in all, it's a standard diner with friendly staff and good coffee. I would have liked to rate this better as my omelette was tasty but they need to cook the food fully even when busy. Probably won't be back.

My girlfriend and I were on our way to the Casino on Sunday 3/26/17 and wanted to eat before we went, saw a sign on Rte 9 that said food exit 5. So we decided to see what was around and we found Hally Jo's Corner Restaurant and thought we would give it a try, not realizing they closed at 1 and it was after 12:30 when we got there, but we didn't feel rushed at all. It was excellent food and service. Everyone was very friendly! Would definitely recommend:)

Such awful, and rude customer service from a woman who answers the phones there! This morning I placed a order through DoorDash. I forgot to add a Orange Juice item, when I called Holly Jo's to simply ask if they ca add the OJ and I will pay the difference ( since payment always was processed through the app) and the lady was not educated in that fact Holly JO's restaurant is infact on the Doordash app. When I tried to explain how the app semi worked she cut me off and was rude to me for just trying to explain and add more items to my order. In the end I canceled my Doordash order. I would not rather give my money to that place ever again, the waitresses need a real attitude adjustment and some educated background on today's food apps.

Great food at reasonable prices. I go there occasionally and have never had a bad experience. The only downside is that they dont have a ton of seating and if it's very busy they will fill up. Otherwise everything here is good.

Service was lackluster to be kind. Forgot to take our order then had attitude like it was our fault for sitting there waiting for 20 minutes. When we did order the food took over half an hour to get to us. Omelette was good, home fries were cold, sourdough toast was extra burnt and extra money. Pancake was raw. Never had a chance to let anyone know because they never came back over. From where we sat we could see into the kitchen. No one wore gloves, and food was microwaved. No excuses..

This is a breakfast and lunch restaurant. Open early at 6 am. Breakfast is yummy, eggs cooked perfect. Good muffins, home fries and delicious home made corned beef hash. Quick service considering it's not a very large place. Right on corner of the main intersection in Deep River, parking on the street or in back of restaurant.

The best breakfast around.

Breakfast was delicious. Ordered scrambled eggs with bacon home fries and toast and French toast. Would recommend both. French toast was really good. Atmosphere was very friendly and everyone seemed to know each other by name.

Good food nice place

Hally Jo's is consistently a good choice for us. Any time we're in the area and want to get some of the best breakfast food around in a very cozy atmosphere this is hands down the single best place to go. They have changing specials on the whiteboard behind the cash register that are my personal go to. But you can also customize your breakfast desires with anything you want! Definitely worth checking out! Highly recommend home fries as well, no order has ever let me down.

Good food and service!

Staff is not treated how they should be from the "man" in charge. Called in sick and was fired during covid. Besides that, the food is great and the rest of the staff is exceptionally nice.

Perfect little cafe. Great Eggs Benedict and nice fluffy pancakes. Always a great go to for breakfast, I have found my self to be a regular. Another food favorite I cannot seem to find at any other breakfast joint is there wonderfully grilled homemade muffins.

Was in Deep River to pick up something at G’s vintage shop and decided to pop into Hally Jo’s Corner Restaurant. Great diner coffee and if I can recommend a dish to everyone, the Sunny side up eggs with scratch made corn beef hash and rye toast was just awesome!!

0 stars if I could. The waitresses are very rude and impatient with customers seems like they really hate their jobs there.. I had a visit a few months ago I went in with my boyfriend and the waitress sat down I forget her name she was a older brown haired lady she comes over to us asks what we want to order and she never gave us menus, then instead of apologizing she gives us a attitude because she looked stupid i guess? I asked for fries egg white and I got runny scrambled eggs and when I kindly asked to return the eggs to my fried egg I got the slowest service and biggest attitude. Never asked if anything was okay, never got a refill on my drinks. Louisy service.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was good; however, the staff was very rude to my friend and I. We always bring our own tea bags whenever we got out for breakfast and it has never been an issue until I went to this place. We asked for a mug of hot water and they were reluctant to give it to us. They asked why and I said because we brought our own tea and they asked "why because ours isn't good enough for you?". When they eventually gave us the "hot" water it was lukewarm then they tried to charge us for the tea that we brought. Safe to say I will not be returning to this place and I will tell people that if you want a friendly experience this is a place to be avoided.

Their banana nut pancakes are amazing. Their hash is also really good!
